Teacher: Hello, boys and girls, teachers and mothers! We are glad to see you!

Today we are going to celebrate Mother’s Day. It is celebrated on Sunday in

May in Great Britain and in the USA. And we shall celebrate it today.

Friends, tell me please what season is it now?

Right! It is spring now, it is a lovely season.

Our pupils will recite poems about March and Spring.

Pupils:

The March wind roars

Like a lion in the sky,

And makes us shiver

As he passes by.

When winds are soft,

And the days are warm and clear,

Just like a gentle lamb,

Then spring is here.

March brings sunny days and winds,

So we know that spring begins.

April brings the primrose sweet,

We see daisies at our feet.

May brings flowers, joy and grass,

And the holidays for us.

Teacher: And now we shall sing a song about merry march.

Song.

The merry march.

Children go, to and fro,

In a merry pretty row;

Footsteps light, faces bright,

‘Tis a happy, happy sight.

Swiftly turning round and round,

Do not look upon the ground.

Follow me, full of glee,

Singing merrily.

Singing merrily, merrily, merrily,

Singing merrily, merrily, merrily,

Follow me, full of glee,

Singing merrily.

Flowers for dear Mother.

Pupil:

I love my dear Mummy,

I love her very much

And do you love your Mother?

Of course, and very much!

Teacher: Now, we shall play the game called « Flowers for dear Mother ». The

rules of our game: Each student comes to the blackboard, where you can see a

beautiful vase. The student names his mother’s favourite flower, takes it and

then puts it into the vase.

Pupils: My Mother likes … best of all.

(Ученики по очереди называют любимый цветок мамы, выбирают его на

столе и украшают вазу)

Teacher: We present this bunch of flowers to our mothers!

Actings.

M-O-T-H-E-R.

Pupils:

M is for the million things she gave me.

O means only that she’s growing old.

T is for the tears she shed to save me.

H is for her heart of purest gold.

E is for her eyes, with love lights shining.

R means right, and right she’ll always be.

Put them all together; they spell «mother»,

A word that means the world to me.

M is for the mercy she possesses.

O means that I owe her all I own.

T is for her tender sweet caresses.

H is for her hands that made a home.

E means everything she’s done to help me.

R means real and regular, you see.

Put them all together; they spell «mother»,

A word that means the world to me.

My Mother.

Mother’s Pet.

I’m Mother’s little pet,

Yes, that’s me;

And my hair is very black

As you can see.

I try to be

As good as gold,

And I nearly always do

What I’m told!

I’ve two dolls, lots of toys

And a brother;

And I’m very, very, very

Found of my mother!

Teacher: We have many responsibilities at home and we like help our parents.

Helping Mother.

Help your mother set the table

With a knife and fork and spoon.

Help your mother set the table

Every afternoon.

Help your mother clear the table

Take the knife and spoon.

Help your mother clear the table

Morning, night and noon.

Teacher: Let’s say to our mothers some lovely and pleasant words.

Pupils:

-

I think my mother is…. And I love my mother.

(Ученики делают комплименты своим мамам)

Pupil:

I wrote your name in the sky,

but the wind blew it away.

I wrote your name in the sand,

but the waves washed it away.

I wrote your name in my heart,…

and forever it will stay!

Teacher: There are a lot of postcards for your mothers. Children, take them and

present them to your mothers.

Song.

May there always be sunshine.

Bright blue the sky,

Sun up on high –

That was the little boy’s picture.

He drew for you,

Wrote for you, too,

Just to make clear what he drew –

Refrain:

May there always be sunshine,

May there always be blue skies,

May there always be Mummie,

May there always be Me!

My little friend,

Listen my friend,

Peace is the dream of the people.

Hearts old and young

Never have done

Singing the song you have sung.

Refrain:

May there always be sunshine,

May there always be blue skies,

May there always be Mummie,

May there always be Me!

Teacher: Mothers, we congratulate you on Mother’s Day and wish:

Pupils:

-

I wish you to be kind and clever.

-

I wish you to be helpful.

-

I wish you to be healthy and wealthy.

-

I wish you to be the most beautiful woman in the world.

Teacher: Thank you very much for your visiting our holiday. Happy Mother’s

Day!
