разработка

практического

занятия

-

«Любимые

праздники

в

Великобритании

и

США»

рекомендуется

для

применения в учебно-воспитательном процессе с обучающимися

средних профессиональных учебных заведений.

Практическое

занятие

по

данной

теме

проводилось

на

базе

объединения

«Разработка

и

оформление

стенных

газет

на

английском

языке»

в

рамках

дополнительного

образования

в

ГБПОУ МАДК им .А.А. Николаева.

Данное

занятие

несет

в

себе

огромные

познавательные

и

воспитательные

возможности,

так

как,

управляя

содержанием

включенных в неё вопросов и сообщений, педагог может оценить

подготовленность

обучающихся

понимать

иностранную

речь

и

выделять ключевые факты.

В

ходе

изучения

английского

языка

обучающийся

должен

знать

основные

факты

исторического

развития,

культурного

развития,

традиции и обычаи стран изучаемого языка. Обучающиеся должны

уважать традиции, обычаи, культуру стран изучаемого языка.

Целью данной методической разработки «Любимые праздники в

Великобритании и США» является закрепление студентами знаний

и

умений,

полученных

на

уроках

лексического

материала

по

английскому языку и применения их в практической деятельности.

Данное

занятие

развивает

образное

мышление

у

обучающихся,

активизирует

их

познавательную

деятельность

в

освоении

английского

языка,

позволяет

разнообразить

формы

и

методы

обучения. Ведь учебный труд, как и всякий другой интересен тогда,

когда

он

разнообразен.

Однообразная

информация

и

однообразные способы действий быстро развивают скуку.

В предлагаемой методической разработке закрепление знаний и

умений,

полученных

обучающимися,

осуществляется

путем

аудирования, выделения основных фактов и ответов на вопросы.

Цели:



Формирование

уважительного

отношения

обучающихся

к

культуре и традициям стран изучаемого языка.



Развитие

мышления

об

услышанном

и

совершенствование

умения анализировать содержание на иностранном языке.



Содействие росту творческих способностей и гармоничному

становлению личности.

Задачи :

-Познакомить обучающихся с содержанием докладов о любимых

праздниках в Великобритании и США.

-Способствовать развитию интереса учащихся к истории и культуре

стран изучаемого языка.

-Расширять познавательный интерес в ходе изучения английского

языка.

-Способствовать развитию навыков сбора информации; изложение

информации на английском языке, умению понимать иностранную

речь на слух.

-Развивать

познавательный

интерес

и

желание

участвовать

в

мероприятиях, посвящённых данной учебной дисциплине.

Введение

Вступительное слово преподавателя:

Добрый день, уважаемые студенты, мы рады приветствовать вас на

нашем мероприятии.

Вы знаете, что английский язык один из самых распространённых

языков

в

мире.

Свыше

350

млн.

человек

разговаривают

на

английском языке, как на своём родном, и около 300 млн. людей

говорят на нём, как на втором языке. Студентам следует изучать

английский,

так

как

знание

английского

языка

является

эффективным средством коммуникации и получение любого вида

информации во всём мире. Это международный язык в научной

сфере, средствах массовой информации, (СМИ), информационных

технологиях, в банковской сфере, политике.

В

процессе

изучения

английского

языка

наши

студенты

также

получают

определённую

информацию

об

историческом

и

культурном развитии Великобритании и США, как стран, в которых

зародился и развивался данный язык.

Каждая страна – уникальна в своём развитии, имеет свою историю,

культуру, традиции и обычаи и, конечно, каждая страна имеет свои

праздники, как официальные, так и народные.

Народ каждой страны имеет свои любимые праздники, связанные

со

своей

семьёй,

родственниками,

народными

обычаями,

религиозными убеждениями.

Первый докладчик: American holidays.

American Holidays

There are many holidays in the USA which are celebrated from year to

year. American people enjoy having holidays, especially if they are

public. During such holidays children don’t go to school and adults don’t

work.

Perhaps,

the

most

favorite

public

holidays

in

the

USA

are

Christmas and New Year.

On New Year’s Day people see the old year off and the New Year in.

Most people stay up all night even Children.

At

midnight

many

people

go

outside

and

shout “Happy new year!” Some people set

off

fireworks

and

blow

automobile

horns

which

are

heard

everywhere.

Everybody

exchanges presents and good wishes.

Christmas is a religious holiday whish symbolizes the birth of Jesus

Christ. By this day people decorate fir trees

with toys and candies. Children wait for

Santa Claus who comes to every house and

brings them presents. Before going to bed,

children leave their shoes to find in them

what

they

want

most

of

all

the

next

morning. Some people especially young people like to celebrate it in

restaurants and cafes and pubs but most people prefer to stay at home

with their family on this day

One of the popular holidays in America Is the Day of All Saints, known in

the world as Halloween. Children are

especially

fond

of

this

holiday.

It

is

celebrated

on

October

31st.

All

American

people

begin

to

appear

in

masks and carnival costumes. Also they

decorate their houses on symbols of

Halloween Jack-o-lanterns. All children

love this holiday. They can do all sprees. On the night of 1st November

they

go

to

the

neighbor’s

houses

in

costumes

and

ask

“trick-or-

treating”. Some big cities, like NY, have parades of Halloween.

Saint Valentine’s Day is one of favorite holiday from American people.

They

give

presents

in

the

form

of

hearts to most loved people in his life

and friends in the most of American’s

schools

and

colleges

have

parties

with songs and games. People who

live in love (lovers) prefer spending

time

together

this

day

and

doing

romantics dinners. Saint Valentine’s Day is celebrated in the USA very

noisily and funny.

Второй докладчик: Holidays in Great Britain.

1) Christmas in Great Britain.

Christmas Day, December 25, is probably the most popular holiday in

Great Britain. It is a family holiday. Traditionally all relatives and friends

give each other presents. So, before Christmas all the department

stores and shops are crowded, everybody is choosing a present.

In general, people get prepared for this holiday very carefully. They

decorate their houses in the traditional way. Christmas trees are set up

in houses, in the streets and churches. They are always decorated with

fairy lights, angels and small toys. In addition, little packets with nuts,

candies and special biscuits are hung on the tree. Presents are put

around the tree and artificial «frost» is scattered over the branches.

Carol singing is an essential part of Christmas. No church or school is

without

its

carol

service.

Carols

may

be

traditional

or

with

some

variations that express different feelings. Carols were used for the first

time during Christmas in the fifteenth century.

Usually children come around in the evening to the front doors and

start singing carols and people who live in these houses give children

candies, nuts, pies and so on, to thank them for carol singing.

2) Bank Holiday.

A

bank

holiday

is

a

public

holiday

in

the

United

Kingdom,

some

Commonwealth

countries,

other

European

countries

such

as

Switzerland, and a colloquialism for a public holiday in Ireland. There is

no automatic right to time off on these days, although banks close and

the majority of the working population is granted time off work or extra

pay for working on these days, depending on their contract. The first

official bank holidays were the four days named in the Bank Holidays

Act 1871, but today the term is colloquially used (albeit incorrectly) for

the two public holidays which are not official bank holidays in England,

Wales and Northern Ireland, namely Good Friday and Christmas Day.

3) New Year in the UK.

New Year in the United Kingdom is celebrated on January 1, the first day

of the first month as per the Gregorian Calendar. This day was officially

declared as New Year’s Day in 1752. The origin of New Year dates back

to the era of emperors. They thought of celebrating a special day which

should dot a day for beginning and end of the year. It was celebrated at

the time of Equinox in mid-March by the Egyptians and Persians while

the Greeks celebrated it on the winter solstice. As per the ancient

Roman calendar New Year fell on March 1. The calendar was based

upon the cycles of the moon, beginning in spring and ending with

autumn planting. It was Numa Pompilius, the second king of Rome, who

divided the year into twelve lunar months by adding the months of

January and February. The New Year was shifted to January as it marked

the beginning of the civil years in Rome. The Roman emperor Julius

Caesar

officially

declared

January

1

to

be

a

New

Year

in

46

B.C.

Historians believe that the New Year tradition was started by ancient

Babylonians in those old times.

4) Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day is traditionally a day for families and friends to get

together for a special meal. The meal often includes a turkey, stuffing,

potatoes,

cranberry

sauce,

gravy,

pumpkin

pie,

and

vegetables.

Thanksgiving Day is a time for many people to give thanks for what they

have.

Thanksgiving Day parades are held in some cities and towns on or

around Thanksgiving Day. Some parades or festivities also mark the

opening of the Christmas shopping season. Some people have a four-

day weekend so it is a popular time for trips and to visit family and

friends.
